TheRealWilmington.com is a site dedicated to promoting quality local businesses. The site is owned and operated by Kenneth Fisher, an area entreprenuer and real estate broker.  Kenneth grew up in Wilmington and has seen many businesses that provide excellent service, and quite a few that have not. Kenneth is the founding member of Beach Town Brokers Team. To learn more about Beach Town Brokers Team, please visit www.BeachTownBrokers.com.  Also see the sponsored menu on the side of this page for useful real estate information. As a local business owner, Kenneth understands the value of excellence. He has also learned over the years, the importance of getting the right people for the job, which is sometimes hard to do when there are so many choices.  TheRealWilmington.com is a collaborative effort. We have secret shoppers, who report on local businesses and help decide who we should promote. The business owners who make the cut then become information sources and promoters.

How We Started

The old saying goes, “Wilmington has it all”.  Its a great place to live. As real estate brokers, working with people who were new to the area, we realized that people were relying on us to provide them with quality recommendations for eveything from a place to eat lunch, to an electrician, to a family doctor.  So, from that came the idea that we could leverage the high volume interaction of our business, our local knowledge and status, and the mass media capabilities of the internet to become a resource for people to find good recommendations for what they want.  We started with restaurants since there are so many in our area. Plus, it gives us an excuse to go try out new places.

TheRealWilmington.com is a media for word of mouth advertising on the web.  It works similar to a secret shopping program.  TheRealWilmington.com has a network of locals, who feed in their opinions about first hand customer satisfaction. Good "buzz" about a businesss or establishment earns a posting on the site.  Its pretty simple. We like to think of ourselves as "connectors".  Once a business is connected, they too help to promote the site, and otherr quality businesses.  We are all about helping to promote a solid local economy by supporting quality local businesses.
